Her victory is bound to be complete, she’ll never cheat; she’ll never cheat

She is the one you’ll cling to, if you go down on one knee
Proposing a lifetime’s devotion, with a ring for company
But she’s had her fill of suitors, of poets and April fools
They all seem to me like a menagerie, objects of ridicule

To say she’s one of a kind is just half the truth; she always seems to end on top
But you know they’ll never stop, they keep coming round and round and round

Like a scene from Hogarth’s Alley she’ll be standing on her feet
While all around have hit the ground, paying homage in their defeat
So if you should challenge Clarey, she’ll put you in your place
She may play around but so many have found, that they just can’t stand the pace
